Event: Forest management in protected areas in Montenegro

Parks Dinarides in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism of Montenegro, will organize an event entitled: “Forest management in protected areas in Montenegro”.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management is currently working on amendments to the Law on Forests, which will enable the transformation of the current way of forest management in such a way that concessions are abolished and commercial operations in forest management are entrusted to a state-owned company that will be established.

Bearing this in mind, and at the initiative of the managers of protected areas in Montenegro, we are organizing an event with the aim of discussing models of forest management in protected areas, as well as ways of cooperation between managers of protected areas and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management/Forest Management.

The event is organized on March 16 in Podgorica as part of the project “Improving the Management of Protected Areas in Montenegro”, which Parks Dinarida implements in partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), and with the support of the US Forest Service International Programs.
