Representatives of Parks Dinarides – Network of Protected Areas of Dinarides participated in Interreg MED Programme meetings, on 26 - 27 March, in Split (Croatia). On this occasion participants exchanged experiences and acquired new knowledge regarding sustainable tourism in Mediterranean basin and the projects that are being implemented.
On the 27 March the MED Sustainable Tourism Community held a horizontal meeting “Towards Policy Recommendations on Sustainable Tourism: Shaping the Results of the MED Community”. Participants presented progress, results and implementing difficulties of all ongoing projects within the Sustainable Tourism MED Programme. After that, a workshops were realized, leaded with international experts. This was a contribution to policy making of sustainable tourism development in the Mediterranean basin.
On 28 March the meeting was held among all 15 partners from 10 MED countries of the INHERIT project. In Montenegro, this project is implemented by Parks Dinarides. During the meeting, partners made an overview of the project’s study phase, which is ending, and presented an activity plan for the next, testing phase. Organisator of this meeting was Ministry of Tourism from Croatia, which is also a project partner. Partners concluded that all previous activities have been successfully implemented and that everything is ready for the beginning of the next project’s phase. In the next phase, the INHERIT approach should be tested in pilot areas all partners countries. Pilot area for Montenegro should be a Herceg Novi hinterland, with Nature Park “Orjen”, which provides reach natural heritage and opportunities for active holiday in terms of nature protection.
