Parks Dinarides has started the implementation of the project “For preserved Gorica“. Within the project  will be implemented a campaign on biodiversity values and pressures on the Gorica Forest Park nature monument, with a special focus on forest fire prevention. In addition, the project will strengthen the capacities of the future manager of the Agency for Management of Protected Areas in Podgorica.

The main goal of the project is: Preservation of the Gorica through raising awareness and contributing to fire prevention.

The project consists of two components:

• focused campaign on the importance of protecting Gorica and preventing fires;
• strengthening the management capacity.

Main activities include:

• procurement of firefighting equipment (knapsacks and brooms);
• installation of educational boards that will be adapted to blind and partially sighted people;
• warning sign setting;
• organization of trainings for monitoring in protected areas.
• preparation and distribution of visuals;
• preparation and distribution of a brochure about Gorica;
• promotion of video spots on social networks;
• organization of info days.

The project is supported within the Regional Program of Local Democracy in the Western Balkans2 – ReLOaD2, financed by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). In Montenegro, the ReLOaD2 program is implemented in partnership with fifteen local governments, within five clusters.
