The Parks Dinarides network consists more then 100 protected areas from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia. Parks Dinarides members are also natural persons, nature lovers and friend of the network from its establishment. The official association “Parks Dinarides – network of protected areas of Dinarides” was established in Podgorica at the end of 2014, and the seat of the network is in Podgorica.
Park Dinarides – network of the protected areas of Dinarides aims to state and realize by means of its action the common interest in the improvement of the protection of environment and sustainable development and to improve the cooperation between the protected areas of the Dinaric Arch countries. This cooperation primarily relates to improvement of cultural and natural resources of the protected areas of Dinarides, their promotion and support to the requirements of the protected areas and implementation of good practices of the sustainable development and management.
Parks Dinarides main aim is active participation in the improvement of the protection, development and management of the protected natural resources in the territory of Dinarides. Among the priority tasks is also the improvement of the cooperation between the protected areas and local self-governments, as well as stakeholders associations in terms of fulfilment of their tasks which are related to the protection of environment and sustainable development.

Initiative to form a regional alliance of protected areas in the territory of the Dinaric Arc countries is one of the results arising from the project “Dinaric Arc Parks”. The implementer of this project was WWF. Also, in December 2013, the countries of the Dinaric Arc signed an agreement called the Big Win II, in Budva (Montenegro), which is a continuation of the previous Big Win agreement that was reached in 2008, at the ninth CBD Conference in Bonn (Germany). By the official adoption of the document in Budva on 2 December 2013, the countries signatories, and their relevant ministries committed themselves to work together to strengthen the planning process in the protection of nature, and on valorization of the economic value of their natural resources, and based on these values work to strengthen models for sustainable financing of protected areas in the region and joint work on the overall improvement of protected areas in the Dinaric Arc region. This document was signed, with the mediation of the WWF and IUCN, by ministers and representatives of ministries in charge of the area of environment of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo*, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia.

The fifth anniversary of the Parks Dinarides establishment
The fifth anniversary of the Parks Dinarides establishment was marked on the II Extraordinary Assembly of Parks Dinarides held in Bihać, NP Una. After five years, the Parks Dinarides grew into a strong regional non-governmental organization that is nowadays largely independent in its operation and work of the organizations and institutions of countries from which the initiative for its establishment originated. As a part of the anniversary celebration program of the Parks Dinarides, the members were presented with the membership certificates and with the certificates of appreciation for organization friends that helped the work and development of the Parks Dinarides in the previous five years.
