In order to improve the exchange of experiences and good practices of protected areas in the Dinarides region, Parks Dinarides organise regular conferences of the network of Parks Dinarides, which is attended by members of the network and other parks of the Dinarides area. The first Conference, held in 2014, was also the founding Assembly of Parks Dinarides, and since then, such conferences have been organised once a year.
Appreciating the importance of cooperation and the importance of essential involvement of local population in planning and management of protected areas, in order to increase economic, social and cultural benefits, Parks Dinarides conferences are, since 2018, attended by representatives of local communities and NGOs as well.
The events traditionally bring together a large number of participants from eight countries of the Dinarides region, who, during the working part of the conference, through discussions, presentations and workshops with leading experts from the region exchange experiences and discuss issues of improving protected area management and strengthening cooperation between protected areas and communities, which represents one of the foundations of good natural resources management.
One of the goals of such events is to improve the natural and cultural values of the protected areas of Dinarides, their promotion and support, as well as the application of good practices of sustainable development and management.
As part of the conference program, the annual Assemblies of Parks Dinarides network are organised.
