Event: Challenges and perspectives in the protection of the monument of nature – Cijevna River Canyon

Parks Dinarides is organizing an event: Challenges and perspectives in the protection of the monument of nature Cijevna River Canyon, which will be held on March 21, 2024 in the Hall of the Tuzi Municipality Assembly, starting at 9 a.m.

The topic of the round table is extremely important for the preservation of the Cijevna river canyon, bearing in mind the numerous pressures and challenges in the functioning of the protected area.

At the round table, we will present the “Inventory of pressures on the Cijevna River with a proposal for measures to prevent or control harmful impacts“. The main aim of the document is to upgrade existing data and knowledge in terms of the pressures that exist on the Cijevna River, and to help the manager of the protected area in understanding the situation on the ground and offer information that can facilitate the implementation of measures to mitigate or eliminate identified negative impacts.

Also, this event will be an opportunity to present the challenges and perspectives in the management of the protected area, as well as the findings of the Fishing Base for the Cijevna River.

The activity is organized within the project: “Towards the effective management of the Cijevna River Canyon wildlife monument” which is financially supported by the Partnership Fund for Critical Ecosystems (CEPF) and BirdLIFE International.
