Activities on the Census of the Eurasian Eagle-Owl (Bubo bubo) in the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument
Center for Protection and Research of Birds – BirdLife Montenegro, conducted a census of the Eurasian Eagle-Owl (Bubo bubo) within the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument for the purposes of the project implemented by Parks Dinarides. During the fieldwork, five locations were identified as potentially suitable habitats for this species.
During the survey, one male Eurasian Eagle-Owl was recorded, along with other species characteristic of this area, such as the Rock Partridge, Blue Rock Thrush, and Little Owl.
Each collected record represents an important step toward a better understanding of the state of biodiversity, as well as toward more effective management and conservation of the natural values of Cijevna Canyon.
This activity is part of the broader project that is implemented by Parks Dinarides “Contribution to More Efficient Management of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument – Phase II”, financially supported by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF).
