Announcement – First Workshop for the Development of the Management Plan for the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument

Parks Dinarides  in cooperation with Monument of nature Cijevna Canyon is organizing the first workshop for the development of the five-year Management Plan. The workshop will be held on May 26, 2026, at the Assembly Hall of the Municipality of Tuzi.

The aim of the first workshop is to define the vision and identify the key natural values of the area, including their definition, assessment of the current condition, and determination of the target condition to be achieved by the end of the planning period.

During the second workshop, discussions will focus on pressures affecting natural values, while the final workshop, scheduled for September, will define the action plan.

The Management Plan development process will follow a participatory approach through the organization of three workshops:

• First workshop – May 26, 2026
• Second workshop – June 8, 2026
• Third workshop – mid-September 2026

The Plan will be developed in accordance with the Management Planning Guidelines (Toolbox) prepared by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development of Montenegro through the GEF 7 project.

In accordance with the Law on Nature Protection, the manager of the protected area is obliged to prepare a five-year Management Plan as the main management document, containing measures and activities aimed at improving and preserving the natural values of the area.

The objective of the first workshop is to define the vision and identify the key natural values of the area, including their definition, assessment of the current condition, and determination of the target condition to be achieved by the end of the planning period. During the second workshop, discussions will address pressures and challenges, while the final workshop in September will define the action plan.
