Parks Dinarides donate Firefighting and Monitoring Equipment to the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument
The Parks Dinarides has donated firefighting and monitoring equipment to the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument.
“We are pleased to continue providing support to the management authority of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument. The preparation of the first five-year Management Plan for this protected area is currently underway, and in addition, the necessary field equipment has been secured. The donation includes five backpack water pumps for firefighting, five fire beaters, and three camera traps, with a total value of EUR 1,500. We are glad to have the opportunity to provide concrete support to protected areas through activities such as these,” said Zoran Mrdak, President of the Parks Dinarides

Representatives of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument LLC emphasized that the equipment comes at the right time, just ahead of the start of the wildfire season.
“The donated equipment represents significant support for our efforts to preserve and enhance the natural values of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument. It is particularly important that the equipment has been provided before the wildfire season, as it will contribute to more effective prevention measures and faster response in the field. At the same time, the camera traps will improve monitoring activities and enable the collection of higher-quality data, which is of great importance for planning and implementing conservation measures in this protected area,” stated Adnan Drešaj, Director of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument LLC.
The equipment was provided through the project “Contribution to More Effective Management of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument – Phase II,” implemented by the Parks Dinarides – Network of Protected Areas of Dinarides and financed by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF).
