II Workshop Held for the Development of the Management Plan for the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument
Parks Dinarides in cooperation with the management authority of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument, organized the second workshop as part of the process of developing a five-year Management Plan for this protected area.
The workshop brought together representatives of relevant institutions, local government, and the non-governmental sector with the aim of identifying pressures on the natural values of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument, as well as the underlying causes of these pressures. During the workshop, participants also mapped the key institutions that need to be actively involved and with whom close cooperation and coordination must be established to ensure effective management of the area.

The third workshop is planned for September and will focus on the development of the Action Plan.
The Management Plan development process is being facilitated by our colleague Marko Pećarević, who applies the Open Conservation Standards methodology and an ecosystem-based approach to planning. This approach contributes to strengthening the capacities of the protected area manager, as well as all stakeholders involved in the planning and decision-making process.
The development of the Management Plan is part of the broader project “Contributing to More Effective Management of the Cijevna Canyon Nature Monument – Phase II”, which aims to improve the management of this protected area through direct support to the management authority, strengthening institutional capacities, and enhancing planning and conservation processes.
The project is being implemented with the financial support of the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF).
